Stanley’s Famous Hamburgers, Still Flipping After 60 Years!
The Providence Journal - Business Profile
One of the few things that has remained the same for decades is Stanley’s Famous Hamburgers in Central Falls. Founded during the Great Depression by Stanley F. Kryla, it was operated until 1987 by his son, John S. Kryla of Cumberland who then won a lottery.
Stanley’s is considered an institution in the Central Falls community. Once patrons come to Stanley’s Famous Hamburgers, they come back again and again from all over RI, MA & CT for that Stanley Burger. The present owner Greg Raheb bought Stanley’s in 1987. He was managing a restaurant in Ft. Lauderdale, FL and wanted something of his own that was unique. Stanley’s definitely fit that description. The recipe for the Stanley Burger remains the same, everything is cooked to order and service is still quick.
Prices start at 99¢ and max out at $6.65 for the lobster salad plate. The menu has been extended to include mushroom cheeseburgers, double bacon cheeseburger, clam cakes, breaded chicken fingers and Quebec-style fries which are topped with shredded mozzarella cheese and brown gravy. Stop by today and see why everyone still loves Stanley’s Famous Hamburgers.
